Invasive Plants - what’s the problem and how can I help?

Invasive plants are often non-native species that - once escaped into the wild - devastate native habitats and the wildlfe they support.

The majority of the 70,000 or so non-native plants available to buy in Britain don't actually pose a risk and are unlikely to cause environmental damage now or in future, so we don’t want to unnecessarily curb trade or the enjoyment of plants by gardeners and pond-keepers by suggesting non-native plants shouldn’t be used.
